IED Bilbao is placed in Zorrotzaurre island, known as the “Creativity Island”. Near Guggenheim Museum designed by architect Frank Gehry, a timeless Metro system designed by Sir Norman Foster, an airport from Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava and a community center (Alhondiga) designed by Philippe Starck Bilbao is a member of the Creative Cities Network (Unesco).
Bilbao is the modern face of the Basque Country, in the north of Spain. The city successfully mixes traditional Basque culture with a new vision for the future and a modern present. It is an absolute must for design and culture lovers and also for foodies. Surrounded by green hills and closed to the coast it’s a perfect venue for being in touch with nature. Old industrial complexes along the river Nervión were torn down and new projects to improve infrastructure.
